Student Wellbeing
The Kimiora Health Centre at Tangaroa College is home to a dedicated team of qualified professionals, including Registered Nurses, Social Workers, a SENCO, and a Guidance Counsellor. Our team is here to support the well-being of both students and staff, offering expert care and guidance every day. Whether it’s medical attention, social support, learning assistance, or counselling, the Kimiora team is equipped to meet your child’s needs with professionalism and compassion. Each team member is a part of a professional body, adhering to the highest standards of ethical practice in their respective fields.
The student management philosophy at Tangaroa College is based on strong positive relationships between all participants in the school. Often with the help of Deans, all staff are expected to actively develop relationships with students so that everyone is seen as human and is treated with dignity and respect.
We support the ideas promoted by the Ministry’s “PB4L” initiative. PB4L stands for Positive Behaviour for Learning. The PB4L initiative helps a school community to improve children’s well-being, and increase educational achievement. It strengthens relationships and creates a more positive school environment, in order to remove barriers to student engagement.
